Celebrating my first father’s day is a source of great happiness and reflection as well. I lost my son after only a few precious days, and saw my daughter Meera battle for 16 weeks in the NICU. Now I draw strength every day from Khalil’s spirit and Meera’s drive. In their own way, they have taught me about the gift of life, faith and the boundless capacity of the human spirit. They say Dads are heroes to their children but in my heart, Khalil and Meera are truly my heroes. Happy Father’s Day!
