Small changes can have a big impact

As a family physician, Dr. Jeremy Rezmovitz literally sees patients from womb to tomb. Who better to speak to the lifestyle tweaks that can pack a real health punch? He says there are a lot of small changes that can quite dramatically turn your health around. What if you added one extra fruit and/or vegetable to your diet every week? What if you moved 2 more minutes today than yesterday? What if you swapped 5 minutes of screen time for a little walk? At face value, it seems like nothing. Over the course of the year, the impact can be enormous.

Dr. Rezmovitz said his goal this year is to decrease screen time, something I’m going to strive for as well (blogging aside). Whatever your changes are, he advises that cutting yourself some slack will help keep the momentum going. He calls it living by the 80/20 rule: do the right thing most of the time, and leave a bit of space for being human. Living a balanced life is about as close to a magic bullet as we’re ever going to get. Watch the video to see more of Dr. Rezmovitz’s tips.
