It doesn’t have to cost a lot to feel like a million bucks. Sometimes the best things in life are free, or cost very little. Take a few minutes to indulge in some small but rewarding activities.
Bath time. Pick up some bubble bath or fragrant bath salts and enjoy an hour to yourself soaking in the tub.
Chocolate. Indulge in a piece of good quality chocolate. Remember, darker varieties may help lower blood pressure and improve good cholesterol.
Go outside. Studies show that even brief periods of time in nature can boost mood and attention.
Spend time with a loved one. Make a call or take some time to share a coffee or tea and catch up.
Watch T.V. Rent a good movie or turn on a favourite show. Comedies can especially help cut stress and even help temporarily lower blood pressure.
Favourite food. Enjoy a favourite food. Buy one treat that is just for you at the grocery store and savour every bite.
Green tea. Enjoy some green tea. Green tea contains catechins, which are antioxidants. Those in turn may help improve blood flow, benefiting the brain and the heart.
Rest! Sleep costs nothing but can reward you with a host of health benefits.
Journal writing. It’s a good way to unwind and connect with yourself. Studies have also found that writing down your goals can help you stay on track.
Listen to music. Turn on some music. Tunes you are familiar with can especially help release feel-good chemicals in the brain.
